How online chat rooms work
A chat room is a shared space where everyone sees the same live conversation. When you type a message it appears instantly for every member of that room. You can reply to someone directly, mention them by name, or click their profile to start a one-to-one private chat.
Each room has a theme. Language rooms let you talk comfortably in your mother tongue, city rooms connect you with people nearby, and interest rooms keep discussions focused on things like music, films, sports or studies.
Features inside the chat
Besides text, you can send emoji, GIFs and images, record short voice messages, and turn on your microphone or webcam for live conversations when the other person agrees. A friends list helps you find people again the next time you log in.
Good chat etiquette
Greet the room when you enter, stay on topic, and avoid typing in all capital letters. Do not flood the room with repeated messages or links. Treat everyone with respect — moderators remove users who harass others.
